LUCY VIDAL-BARRETO
Lucy Vidal-Barreto holds a Bachelor in Science and a Doctor of Dentistry (DDS) degree from the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas. She earned a Master’s degree in Health Care Administration (MHA) from UNC-Chapel Hill. She also is a “Leadership in Public Health” Fellow, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler School of Business/School of Public Health.
Dr. Vidal-Barreto manages the Provider Quality and Education Department at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC). In her current role, she provides direction to quality improvement initiatives and pay for performance programs available to BCBSNC providers and directs the team of Quality Management Consultant Nurses across the State.
Dr. Vidal-Barreto has been appointed twice by the North Carolina Governor to the Fayetteville State University Board of Trustees, where she served as Vice-Chair of the Board for two years and now serves as Chair of the Board. She also has served on the UNC-Chapel Hill Institutional Review Board on Research Involving Human Subjects and on several other Boards and Committees.
She and her husband Amos live in Cary, North Carolina and are proud parents of five adult children.
